In a significant move to promote and uphold human rights worldwide, Langbustech University, a renowned international institution based in New Jersey, USA, has announced the launch of its Universal Human Rights Fellowship Program. This prestigious program aims to identify and recognize personalities from around the globe who have made outstanding contributions to the promotion and protection of human rights, as enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR).

The Universal Human Rights Fellowship Program is dedicated to acknowledging the tireless efforts of individuals who have worked selflessly to uphold the principles of the UDHR.

This year, the university will focus on recognizing government officials from East and Central Africa, particularly those holding ministerial positions, as well as personalities who have demonstrated a commitment to promoting human rights in their respective countries.

The accredited Universal Human Rights Fellows will be recognized with the Global Goals Achievement Award 2025, which will be delivered to their offices. They will also be featured on the Langbustech University website and published in the Langbustech University Journal for Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which will be distributed at the United Nations General Assembly in New York and other university events.

As long-term associates of Langbustech University, the accredited fellows will be invited to participate in university activities in New Jersey, USA, as well as in India, Thailand, and Indonesia.

The 30 principles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which the program aims to promote and protect, are:

  1. All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights.
  2. Everyone is entitled to all the rights and freedoms set forth in the Declaration, without distinction of any kind.
  3. Everyone has the right to life, liberty, and security of person.
  4. No one shall be held in slavery or servitude.
  5. No one shall be subjected to torture or cruel, inhuman, or degrading treatment or punishment.
  6. Everyone has the right to recognition everywhere as a person before the law.
  7. All are equal before the law and are entitled without any discrimination to equal protection of the law.
  8. Everyone has the right to an effective remedy by the competent national tribunals for acts violating the fundamental rights granted by the constitution or by law.
  9. No one shall be subjected to arbitrary arrest, detention, or exile.
  10. Everyone is entitled in full equality to a fair and public hearing by an independent and impartial tribunal.
  11. Everyone charged with a penal offense has the right to be presumed innocent until proved guilty.
  12. No one shall be subjected to arbitrary interference with their privacy, family, home, or correspondence.
  13. Everyone has the right to freedom of movement and residence within the borders of each state.
  14. Everyone has the right to seek and enjoy asylum from persecution in other countries.
  15. Everyone has the right to a nationality and to change their nationality.
  16. Men and women of full age have the right to marry and found a family.
  17. Everyone has the right to own property alone as well as in association with others.
  18. Everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience, and religion.
  19. Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression.
  20. Everyone has the right to peaceful assembly and association.
  21. Everyone has the right to participate in government and public services.
  22. Everyone has the right to social security and realization of economic, social, and cultural rights.
  23. Everyone has the right to work, free choice of employment, and just and favorable conditions of work.
  24. Everyone has the right to rest and leisure, including reasonable limitation of working hours and periodic holidays with pay.
  25. Everyone has the right to a standard of living adequate for their health and well-being.
  26. Everyone has the right to education, which shall be free and compulsory.
  27. Everyone has the right to freely participate in the cultural life of the community.
  28. Everyone is entitled to a social and international order in which the rights and freedoms set forth in the Declaration can be fully realized.
  29. Everyone has duties to the community in which alone the free and full development of their personality is possible.
  30. Nothing in the Declaration may be interpreted as implying for any state, group.
